Why you need to visit Museum Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence
Salvatore Ferragamo is a famous Italian designer and shoemaker. He worked with many Hollywood stars before returning to Italy to found his own company of unique handmade footwear. The Ferragamo family founded the museum in May 1995 in Italy to show the archives of Salvatore Ferragamo and the role he played in the history of not only shoes but international fashion as well. The museum is located in the historical centre of Florence, in Palazzo Spini Ferroni, which has also been the company’s headquarters since 1938.

The exhibition itinerary focuses on the work of Salvatore Ferragamo, who was fascinated and inspired by the avant-garde art movements of the 20th century. You can start from his own masterpieces and go in depth with his shoes and their stories, which are incredible. The exhibition includes rare catwalk and historical pieces such as dresses by Elsa Schiaparelli, Issey Miyake and Nick Cave.
