    Blue Eden

    August 2, 2014 /

Majorelle Garden is a popular place in Marrakech, attracting a large number of tourists, who want to feel the atmosphere of luxurious garden around the studio of the painter Jacque Majorelle. This place is also known by the couturier Yves Saint Laurent, who was in love with the stunning blue color and flowering green gardens. Therefore, I suggest you to discover the inner world of our favorite designer.   Fallen in love with Morocco, in 1923, the French painter Jacque Majorelle built an amazing Moorish villa in Marrakech, which he called ‘Boo Safsaf’. He painted the front door, came up with designs for the tiles, created an unusual interior, using…

    Moroccan Adventures

    June 30, 2014 /

All Moroccan provinces are very different from each other by the landscape, relief, residents and other features. I want to start the story with the most colorful part. Morocco produces very small amount of oil and natural gas from the pool of Essaouira and a small amount of natural gas from the Gharb pool. Essaouira is my favorite city of Morocco, a city of poets and artists.   Essaouira (Mogador in the past) is a real Moroccan town, situated on a strip of the Atlantic coast, where winds blow throughout the year, but the city is known for its mild climate. There is a broad band of the public beach…

    Orange Paradise (Bazaar edition)

    June 10, 2014 /

When you would like a real Eastern exoticism, just come to Morocco. Persian Gulf countries have been stepped forward long time ago, the remains of their national identity huddle on small islands among skyscrapers. But in Morocco as well as in other countries of the Maghreb, everything looks very natural: landscapes, cities, people. Yes, buildings are dilapidated, the country is very poor, but its spirit is amazing.   Morocco is an agricultural country. Many people grow vegetables and fruit, but the others have a huge problem with the work. But the work of farmers is visible. Oh, these fabulous oranges! Farmers cover them with a resin of orange tree for the export to Europe,…

    Real capsule or placebo?

    April 19, 2014 /

There was a day X in the shops of H&M a few days ago – new collection came out. H&M has collaborated with supermodel Amber Valletta and Ever Manifesto. Specially created campaign ‘Conscious Exclusive’ promotes environmentally friendly fashion. All clothes are made from recycled materials. Clothes are made from sustainable materials and were performed in bohemian style. It turned out to be really beautiful and chic. The collection is not flashy, it is airy, light and womanly. The source of inspiration was Spain mainly. You can become a toreador, either flamenco dancer or just a Spanish princess. It’s not a first H&M’s environment protection oriented collection, they try to bring more fashion products that…

    The hottest art

    March 23, 2014 /

I have already mentioned trend to wear sweatshirts, which are conquer a catwalks not for a first time. Celebrities, bloggers, and fashion addicts consider them as glam as they are comfortable. However i suppose that the new black is painterly clothes.   Fragments of the triptych “The Garden of Earthly Delights” by Hieronymus Bosch were used on dresses in 2012  (Carven) and now we can see echoes of the past on sweatshirts. Classics is actual again – paintings of Raphael, Caravaggio and Perugino prove it, they had left museums and gradually moved to our bodies. (Aloha from deer) (Sugarpills Clth)    Apart from the traditional vision designers offer to wear a variety…

Reconstruction of the Finnish costume: Beauty transformation (part 2)

    September 7, 2013 /

The Finnish history of the 20th century is not so simple. Transformation of the standards at that time has played a huge role in the culture and style of the Finnish people. In towns, make-up was no longer considered as frivolous as it had been before. Painting your lips and powdering your nose – even in public places – was positively fashionable. Women found their role models in the great stars of the silver screen. The sales and promotion of cosmetic grew. Shops offered both Max Factor and Elizabeth Arden cosmetics and Eau de Cologne 4711. Coco Chanel`s perfume Chanel No. 5 had been on the market since the begining…

Reconstruction of the Finnish costume (part 1)

    August 25, 2013 /

There is a wide range of exhibits in the State Museum of Finland in Helsinki. I had a pleasure of meeting an amazing history of the Finnish costume, and now I’m going to tell you about it. The reconstruction is based on the finds of a 10-11th century at the Luistari cemetery in Eura, Western Finland. The ancient Eura costume was the first Finnish reconstruction with a mantle dress of the so-called peplos type. The reconstruction is based on the finds of a single grave, but a dress with the same basic model was probably in use throughout Southwestern Finland during the Viking Age. The costume was ordered for the…
